[Swing, swing from the tangles of my heart]
Boredom. Yes, that's what has taken over Natasha. She was sitting in her dorm room, thinking of what to do. So far, there wasn't anything to do. She stood up, and slipped on her tennis shoes. She looked down at her outfit, she could where this. A pink, lacy tank top, with Bermuda shorts. She had just slipped it on this morning, not noticing what it was. That's how out of it she was today. She opened her door, and walked out, closing it behind her. She walked to the main door of her building, and noticed it was raining. She loved rain, she loved the feel of it on your skin. The freshman opened the door, and pushed herself out of it. The rain hit her sleek figure as she slowly walked through the campus.
She had no idea where she was going, her feet would take her there. She might end up in the gym, to shoot baskets or something, or she might go to the beach, to go wet. After five minutes of walking, she made her way to the city park. It was a large park, for such a small town. She stopped at a bench, and sat down. It was empty in the park, but you couldn't blame anyone for not being there, it was raining. But, it was more of a drizzle, than a down pour. She looked up at the sky, her make up was now smearing.
There was nothing to do. She looked up, and a crazy idea came to her mind. She got up, so her idea wasn't so crazy, she was just going to be a little kid again, finding fun in anything. She jumped onto the set, and slid down the slide. She jumped up and ran over to the swing. It didn't send her very high, but she didn't care right now. She looked down at her white Vans, which were now all sandy. She pushed the swing as hard as she could. She jumped off of the swing, and fell to the ground. A record jump! Farther than the last time, although that was years ago. She fell down, onto her butt, and started to draw something in the sand. She just wanted to hang out with someone...

Alex looked at his watch which read 6:04. It had only taken him about six minutes to run a mile. The time was better than his last try by a few seconds, but still, he had gotten better over two days. The new kid ran everyday usually at his old home in Ohio. They had so much land there, it was crazy with the hills though, this park was a lot better for him to run. Sweat rolled down his back and into his blue eyes burning them slightly. The back of his hand swiped his forehead to clear it of any perspiration. He sighed then walked over to an ice cream stand to get a water.
The junior looked like he had just came out of a pool...of sweat. He didn't really smell (probably because he sprayed on extra cologne and deodorant) but it was just gross how he got so sweaty so easily! It grossed a lot of girls out at his old school, that's why after a game of football or basketball he always offered hugs and chased his girl friends (his friends that were girls, not a bunch of gfs!) around causing them to scream. It was hilarious how they got about those things, well that's what he thought. Taking a long swig of his water, the athlete let the cool liquid run down his throat. Then when he was done drinking, he poured the rest on himself. Hey, why not?
Looking around he spotted a few young kids playing on a swing set nearby...then a girl that looked near his age jumping off one. He laughed inwardly at this strange sight and watched as she started to draw in the sand. She's really pretty...and seems bored. Maybe...maybe I'll go over there...No, Alex, don't make a fool of yourself.
He couldn't help but feel slightly attracted to the girl with long dark brown locks and deep brown eyes. Walking over, he brushed his shaggy hair out of his eyes and sat down next to her.
"That was a good jump."

She sighed, this was boring, and she probably looked like an idiot. However, Natasha never really cared how she looked, unless she was in front of a hot guy. It stopped raining, and she wiped her makeup from her face, hoping to get rid of it all. After a couple of times, she couldn't find anymore makeup on her hand. She looked down at her drawing and swiped it away, so that the picture was gone. It was more of a squiggle than a picture, but so what? No one was watching her, not that she could see.
She looked over at some of the kids, giggling and playing with their friends. She wished she had friends here, but she was new, she could expect someone to befriend her right away. She was surprised as someone sat next to her. she couldn't see it, as it all seemed to be a blur. She looked down and waited, was this person going to say anything. She looked up at him and smiled. He seemed about her age.
She smirked at his comment. "Well, I could do better. But for now, that's a record," She said with a smile. "For me at least." She whispered the last part. She liked to jump, considering she played outside on the volleyball team, jumping was sort of a part of every play for her. She wished she was a bit taller, being 5'9" wouldn't get her a scholarship to a college.

Well, I could do better. But for now, that's a record, for me at lest.
He nodded and looked at a few kids yelling over to the side. He loved kids. "I'm sure you could, but ofcoarse...I'd break your record." He laughed lightly then looked back down at her. She was shorter than him by only two inches. Tall girl. He once again flipped his hair out of his blue eyes. That was aways a terrible habit for him and he knew it. His sister keeps bugging him about how he'll get a neck cramp from doing all of that flipping on day. Then after that he'll keep flipping his hair ("being the idiot that he is" according to his sis) and then his head will be stuck to the side like that. Then she threw in how no one would want to be friends with him, his athletic career would slip down the drain, and his hair would grown funny due to gravity pulling down more on a certain side. He didn't really pay much attention to what she said, but it was funny to hear her just spit all of this at him. All in good humor.
"I'm Alex Shaver." He said and held out his hand to gently shake hers. A kid had been throwing a big red blow up ball around behind the two high schoolers like he was a one man team trying to win the Olympics. Suddenly the ball came flying over to the scene and hit the boy with his hand outstretched to the pretty lady. It got him right in the head. It would've hurt if it were a baseball or something, but thankfully it was one of those cheap things you get at Wallmart. It shocked him slightly and made him jump. The kid came running over and looked at Alex suppressing laughter.
"S-sorry." He squeaked then ran off. "No, I'm used to it, really." Rolling his eyes, Alex looked back top the girl. "Gotta love kids I guess."

She looked at him. She was competitive. If she wasn't, she couldn't see how she could be good at sports. She would challenge anyone at anything, even if she knew she couldn't win, but that just made her try harder. "Is that a bet?" She asked, as he flipped his hair. A lot of guys did that when they had long hair, it entertained her, she didn't know why, she was easy to entertain, her mom would always bother her about that, she would just laugh, anything could make her laugh also.
She looked over at him, he was good looking, she had to admit. "Nice to meet you." She grabbed his hand, and added. "Natasha Wilson." She didn't really like her name, it didn't really go together. She didn't know very many Natasha's, but there were a lot of Wilson's. It didn't seem like someone should but them together. She bit her bottom lip as the ball hit Alex. She didn't want to laugh at him, that would be rude, but it was hard not too. Luckily, she didn't.
She didn't like kids, they annoyed her. that's why she never baby-sat for people, they would never hire her again, they might, but she didn't wouldn't to. She didn't know why she didn't like kids, probably because she was the oldest, and had two little siblings. "I guess, I'm not a big fan of them though." She shrugged. She could baby-sit, but diapers were the worse. But she never did, she refused. She smiled at him.

(Sorry it's short, soccer wore me out.)
Natasha Wilson.
On the contrary to what the girl believed about her own name, Alex seemed to really like her name. It wasn't one you heard everyday and that's part of the reason of why he liked it. It was like foreign in a sort of way. He nodded as she stated it was nice meeting him. The feeling was mutual.
"You too." He said simply the watched as the boy ran away with his ball. He knew Natasha thought what had happened was funny, and hey, he couldn't really blame her. He sighed and rubbed his head. "Yeah, you gotta get used to them. I mean once you have them trained, it's easy sailing from there." He smirked and thought of his sister making him sandwhiches when she was younger. Ah yes, good times.
"Oh, and that was a challenge."He got up and brushed the dirt off of his baggy jeans he got from American Eagle. Heading for the swings, Alex jumped on one and looked at Natasha with a playful smile.

She smiled, so yes, it was funny. She rarely got hit on the head. OK, so twice, when she was thirteen, she was it on the face with a softball while practicing grounders. They might be called softball's, but the were anything but soft. Her face was numb for a long time. Also, when she was playing volleyball, someone spiked it, and when she was blocking, it hit her hands, then her face. She was pissed, they called it a double hit. But those were the only times she remembered of getting hit.
Training kids, what? That would be awesome, like a dog. She easily trained her dogs. They could turn on and off lights. She missed them. "OK, how to you train them? That would be a miracle." Her brother and sister would never listen to her. She constantly heard 'You've got legs.' As she asked them to do things for her all the time, like get the phone. They were sarcastic, in her eyes; evil. She had thought them well, they were just like her. So, she wasn't that bad, she just didn't like manual labor.
She watched him get up. She also got up, drawing a line in the sand, where she had landed. "I see how this is." She said, looking up at him. She shook her butt, and wiped it off to get rid of the sand. "Right here, beat that." She said, pointing down at the mark she had just made. She could bet that he would win, but she would try her hardest, to get a farther jump than him.
[It is alright, I just won my softball game, and am also tired.]

As he sat down on the swing and started to pump his legs back and forth, Alex spoke up about 'child training'. "Well, I usually just use blackmail or something like that. It works most of the time unless they have dirt on you that they can use as blackmail. Then it sucks." It was true. His sister and him were always finding ways to torture each other and Alex usually always had something over her head that he could easily tell their mother about. Yeah it was dirty playing, but isn't that what all siblings did these days? Sure it is.
He watched as her figure shook off the grains of sands. He laughed silently as she shook her butt like a dog wagging its tail. He looked at the line as he gained more speed on his swing, eyes were on the prize. This would be considerably easy since he played basketball. A lot of jumping in that sport. After a while, he figured he'd gotten enough speed and jumped landing a foot farther than he own record. He looked back with a little smile then brushed everything off of his pants. With his addidas sneakers, Alex made a new line.
"There you are." He said then crossed his arms. A small smile fell upon his face as he waited.

She stepped out of the way, she didn't want to get hit by him, even though he probably wouldn't jump if she was in the way. She nodded, blackmail. Too bad she didn't live this them anymore, it would be harder to find stuff out. But, living in a different place, she great for her, she didn't have to listen to their annoying voices. "I'll try when I go back home, but my brother and sister are pretty clever." If she had met Alex earlier, when her siblings were stupid. But, she still had a secret from her sister from last year, she would use that later.
She watched him jump, and smiled. He beat her, by a lot. "Do you play basketball?" She asked, walking over to the swing. She looked around, their were more people coming as the day went on, she imagined they looked like idiot's in front of the parents. She looked back at the line, and took a deep breath. She started to swing, while she was swinging she said. "So, if I get farther then your last jump, what do I get?" This was an important question, a prize would make her more competitive, if it was good, if it was bad, she wouldn't do good on purpose.
[Eh, short.]

Ah so she lived in a dorm here? Nice. He too got away from his family by getting a dorm. It was that or be pestered by his wonderful little sister. Oh yeah, hard decision. He looked around as people gasped as they saw him jump. Was it really that far? A little kid stood there with his mouth wide open, the same kid that hit him in the head. Red ball was tucked under his arm safetly now. Alex smiled at the boy then looked back to his opponent. Was it that obvious he played basketball?
"Yup. That, football, and baseball. A sport for every season really." He said with pride. He didn't mean to sound boasty about it, but he couldn't help but flare off infront of a pretty lady. Blue eyes locked into hers. Then he looked down to his feet and shuffled them quickly. Shy guy.
What would she get? Well...
"How about if you win...you get to pick what we do after this. I'm not busy. And if I win, I get to go back to the dorms, get a shower, and take you somewhere nice to eat." He gave a charming smile then side stepped so she could jump.
[ooc;;don't worry about it. mine are short too.]

He was good, and looked good while doing it. She smiled as he looked around. While she was getting ready to jump, she listened to him. "I play volleyball, basketball, and softball." She loved to play sports, it was her life, and why she came to this school in the first place.. "I have one every season also." She looked back at the target, as he shuffled his feet, she liked shy guys, but he seemed to be both, shy at some times, and outgoing others.
She took in a deep breath. 'Good, it's a win/win situation.' She smiled and nodded. So now, she didn't really care if she won or lost. She wasn't embarrassed easily. She jumped off of the swing, and landed, about a six inches behind his jump. She had beaten her last jump, but he still won. She sighed, and stood up. Looking back at Alex, she said, "I guess you won." She shrugged, and than stuck out her hand. "Good game."
She wondered where he would take her, she wanted something to do, this could occupy her. She dusted the sand off of her pants again, and looked into his eyes. She hadn't noticed before how blue they were, she loved that color, if only her eyes were blue like that.

A sporty girl, cool. He looked over to see if the boy was still watching. Nope, the kid was long gone. Good, creeped me out a little bit. He thought uneasily to himself then looked back to Natasha. Deep within his mind he thought of an easier name for her. Nat? No, sounded rude. Tasha? Eh, not quite. No, what he was thinking about were not pet names!
Thankfully she lost. Now she was forced to go out on a date with him! Yet, where were they supposed to go? He hardly knew this area at all...
"Yeah, good game."He took her hand and gently shook it. After getting that over with, Alex wipped his hands on his jeans. They were kinda sweaty. His face turned slightly red and he looked away from her once more.
He looked back down at her and calmed when he saw her smile. "Well, let me take a shower and I'll call you. What's your number?"

She was glad that he won. She knew she wouldn't have beaten him other wise, even after twenty tries. If she had won, she didn't know what she would have them do, probably jut go out to a movie or something. If she knew he thought of it as forcing her to go on a date, she would have to tell him he was wrong. To her, this was the best thing that had happened to her so far in her life. Going on a date with a super hot guy. Not bad at all.
She looked over at a kid as she screeched at the top of her lungs. Another thing to hate about kids, their screaming and tantrums. She shook his hands, and looked back over at the little girl, still screaming. Her mom needed to get her under control before Natasha went over there and slapped her, she could do that, nothing could stop her. It wasn't really a game, but they were talking about sports, so it went with that.
He was being shy again, he was so cute. Was he asking for her number? She nodded, "Um, 6, 9, 2," She paused, for some reason, she couldn't remember her number. "4, 4, 7, 8. That's it." Finally, she remembered it, it's not like she called her phone everyday, and knew the number like the back of her palm.
